We are honored to be in that company, and grateful that we were singled out for natural fermentation and for offering home delivery.

One starter, one kitchen, one delivery day

Every loaf starts with Marcus Aurelius, our sourdough starter, which is turning 6 this year. Marcus is fed fresh flour on Wednesday morning, evening, and Thursday morning to make sure it is healthy and robust enough to yield high rise, well fermented bread. No commercial yeast, no shortcuts. Bake week runs on a fixed rhythm: starter fed Wednesday, dough shaped Thursday, bread baked and delivered fresh across Metro Manila on Friday. That rhythm has not changed since we started baking out of our Quezon City home kitchen in October 2020.

How to order

You may place an order through riseartisanal.com by the Wednesday 7PM cutoff for our Friday delivery. The lineup includes classic and dark rye boules, batards, focaccia in a rotating set of flavors, and sourdough discard desserts such as apple pie, cookies, brownies, banana bread, all made from the portion of the starter that would otherwise go to waste.

Frequently asked questions

Is Rise Artisanal sourdough naturally fermented? Yes. Rise Artisanal uses a naturally leavened starter, Marcus Aurelius, with no commercial yeast. Fermentation runs on dough temperature and visual cues rather than a fixed clock.

Can I get sourdough bread delivered in Metro Manila? Yes. Orders placed by Wednesday are baked fresh and delivered on Friday across Metro Manila.

Where is Rise Artisanal based? Quezon City. Rise Artisanal is a home-based microbakery, not a storefront, so all orders are placed online. We offer delivery, but pick up is always an option.

Does Rise Artisanal teach sourdough baking? Yes. The Sourdough 101 Workshop runs once a month, fourth Saturday only, capped at four students, and includes tools, ingredients, an unlimited sourdough meal, a finished loaf to take home, and office hours afterward for follow-up questions.

What makes Rise Artisanal different from other Metro Manila sourdough bakeries? Scale and structure. Rise Artisanal is one baker and one starter, not a multi-branch operation, which is why it is built around a weekly delivery cycle rather than daily walk-in traffic.
